Attheendofeachweek,yourTeamRatingisusedtocalculatehowmanyArenaPointsyourteamwillreceivefortheweek.YourteammusthavefoughtaminimumoftenmatchesperweektoberewardedwithArenaPoints,andaplayermusthavebeeninatleast30%ofallyourmatchestobeeligibleforthatweek'spoints.Itisimportanttonotethatthepointsyoureceiveinagivenweekisdeterminedbyonlyoneteam,andnotfromacombinationofallyourteams.WhicheverteamyouareamemberofthatwouldreceivethemostpointsafteraccountingforTeamRatingandteamtypebecomesthesolesourceforyourpointsforthatweek.TheArenaSystemismeanttoprimarilyrewardcompetitivenessandplayerskill,andthisisreflectedinthewayTeamRatings,ArenaPoints,andArenaRewardstieintoeachother.
EachteamhasaTeamRating.ThisratingreflectshowwellyourteamisdoingintheArenaSystem;thehigheryourrating,thebetter.Whenyouqueueupforafight,thematchmakingsystemusesyourratingtofindasuitablematchiftheaveragepersonalratingisa150pointsrangeoftheteamrating.Everytimeyourteamwinsamatch,yourratinggoesup,andeverytimeyouloseamatch,yourratinggoesdown.Theamountbywhichyourratingchangesdependsonyourteam'sratingcomparedtotheotherteam'srating�?ifyouwinagainstahigherrankedteam,yourratingwillimprovemorethanifyousteamrolledaweakerteam.Similarly,losingagainstaweakerteamwillhurtyourratingmorethanlosingagainstsuperiorenemies.Theexactformulaeareabitmorecomplicatedthanthat,butthebasicideaissimilartotheElorankingsystemusedforprofessionalchess.
ThetransformationfromyourTeamRatingtoArenaPointsstartsoffasalinearfunction,butonceyougobeyondacertainratingthreshold,thefunctionbecomeslogistic.ThismeansthatyouwillseeasignificantpayoffincreaseonceyourTeamRatinggoesbeyondacertainpoint,butthehigh-endspectrumoftheratingswilleventuallynoticeadecreaseinhowmuchbangtheygetfortheirbuck.Inaddition,2v2and3v3teamsaresubjecttoahandicapwheretheyreceivelesspointsthana5v5teamwiththesameTeamRating.
