Alexander McQueen is one of my all time favorite designers. He never fails to amaze me, no matter how funky his designs may seem sometimes. I fell in love with Mr. McQueen when I was introduced to the Faithful “Love” Clutch. It was so edgy and stunning that I couldn’t help but drool when I laid my eyes on it. Ever since then I can’t seem to stop looking at anything to do with Alexander McQueen, and I can’t wait till the day when I actually own one of his stunning accessories.

While browsing around the Saks Fifth Avenue website I came across the Alexander McQueen Leather luis vuitton uk“Biker” Crossbody Bag. I’ve never been into crossbody bags, but lately I’ve been checking them out more. They’re amazing for trips, and when you don’t want to carry much around especially when you’re shopping!

I fell in love with this bag because it screams edgy. My wardrobe for the most part is edgy/rocker chick and this bag compliments my style well. Small or not, this is one gorgeous bag. I currently do not own a crossbody bag, but if I had to pick one to purchase it would definitely be this gorgeous piece by Alexander McQueen.

The Rebecca Minkoff Cherish Studded Canvas Tote is made of white canvas and it is trimmed in black leather. The front of the bag is adorned with black, square-shaped patches and centered within each of these patches is a flattened, over-sized stud. To me, this just doesn’t seem like a Rebecca Minkoff bag. Maybe if this bag was leather? Or perhaps black with white patches instead? I am so up in the air about this one! But I suppose you could rock with bag with a pair of skinny black jeans and one of those new slouchy tees. And hey, it does have that cute birdie lining that I happen to love so much!

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were spotted spending a little family time together with their daughter, Suri, over the holiday weekend. The trio was enjoying a bit of a shopping spree at the Westfield Mall in Century City, California. The whole family looks great! But I must say, little Suri looks absolutely adorable in her ballerina outfit! Katie looks pretty awesome though too. I love how she paired a white button-down shirt with denim cut-offs. And the straw hat and motorcycle boots? Adorable! And, as always, Katie has a gorgeous handbag in tow — the Mulberry Alexa Bag to be exact! This is such a great, basic piece and it would make the perfect everyday bag. The style is classic and timeless, but still a little bit retro-ish. I love the flap closure and fern straps. Plus the extra-long strap is perfect for a hands-free shopping trip! Nice choice Katie!

I’ve been on the search for a new black patent leather bag. I’m obsessed with patent leather and I’m due for another bag. Patent leather is amazing, but after a while it loses it’s luster and shine. So far, I’ve seen two bags that I’m in love with. The YSL Easy Handbag and the Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini. Both are stunning and available in black patent. The only difference is the pricing! The Rebecca Minkoff MAM is significantly cheaper than the YSL Easy Handbag.

louis vuitton handbagI currently own one Rebecca Minkoff bag, and I can’t stop using it. Her MAM is one of the most amazing satchels I have ever seen and used. The shape and style of the bag is stunning and it even has plenty of room for all your essentials. I’m not quite sure why “mini” is even in the bag’s name. No part of the MAM is small, and it hold just as much as a Louis Vuitton Speedy 30. In fact the name of the bag should of been the Morning After Medium Bag, or something close to it.

The Rebecca Minkoff Black Patent Morning After Mini can be purchased at Feng Junk $550. The MAM is such an amazing bag to add to a handbag collection and to find it in black patent leather is amazing! It’s a beautiful bag, and I’d say it’s worth every penny!

Just take a glimpse at one of their latest S/S collection handbags, the Scream Shopper. I took me a while to actually examine the entire bag, detail by detail, and it’s taking me even longer to decide if I’d give this a thumbs up or down. One thing is for sure, there’s no doubt that this shopper is very unique and quite lovely due to the colors used throughout this bag.

Artistic prints of florals and square patterns lines this purple multicolored bag, while thick braided yellow handles contrast quite lovely with its design. I’m not too crazy over crescent shaped bags, but I must admit, the silhouette of the Scream shopper looks quite pretty sitting there with its curvy shape. Cone shaped studs and gathered leather ruffles at the edges might have served as extra details for this shopper, but we’re not so sure that this would have looked so distinctive without it. One thing I do dislike very much so would be the $3,350 price tag, yikes! Ladies, what’s your input on this bag, would you wear this?

It has been a fun week looking at the new handbags out there. The rich berry color of the Antik Batik Bongo Bag really caught my eye. I love the rich berry color of this bag which is perfect for any season!

The Italian born Gabriella Cortese is the designer behing Antik Batik. She learned dressmaking and embroidery skills from her grandmother before the age of 18. Balinese artisans taught her the skills of hand-dying and further enhanced her embroidery skills. The Bongo bag exemplifies her mastery with color and needlework!

The Bongo bag marries the trends of fringe, sequins and cross body in a very striking and eye-catching way. Tons of detail and tons of “WOW”. I’ll start with the fringe. It’s the perfect length! Not too long and not too much. The front is along the flap and edges of the bag. The woven cross-body strap has a 24″ drop making it a longer version of this style. If it is too long, simply knot it at the top! I’ve seen too many bags “posing” as cross body types that are actually kind of short for comfort and at 5′3″, any bag that purports itself to be a cross-body should fit me – of all people – comfortably! Then there are the sequin details. Just enough to make a statement, but not too much to get in your way, snag your knits or be too much to wear for day.

A good friend of mine swears every time she takes her Speedy out with her, she runs into fabulous deals and sales. I’m not sure if I necessarily deem a handbag can bring you good fortune, but apparently the House of Fendi believes so. Have any of you gals own a piece you consider to be lucky or somehow magical? If you don’t and you’d like to contemplate searching for a luck full addition to your collection, the ‘Roll’ Canvas tote might be a great piece to discover. For once the repetitive “F” logos aren’t what stands out the most, instead, it’s the silkscreen print of a giant four-leafed clover reading Fendi Fortune.

I honestly do like the amusing idea of colorful sketches embedded onto the body of a classic handbag, such as what we have here, but I’m not too fond of this particular design. From a distance, it looks like an old fashioned playing card; perhaps if Fendi would have ditched the white box subjecting the clover, it would have looked neater. Black patent leather and green threading finish off this theme, and this totes small silhouette might be size appropriate for those who want to try this trendy piece, gradually.

I have never been very enthusiastic when it comes to Lockheart handbags. I’m not sure why exactly, they just haven’t been on my radar. But I know there are a lot of Lockheart fans out there and sometimes I feel like I am missing something. Referred to as a “pinwheel”, the design on the front reminds me more of a fanned out stack of poker chips. Funny, considering I’m not much of a poker player! Nonetheless, I find the pattern to be quite cute and charming. It adds just the right amount of interest to this otherwise casual piece. What I like most about this little wristlet/wallet, however, is the kiss lock central compartment. It is large enough to hold some small items, allowing this wristlet/wallet to truly function as a wristlet and not simply a wallet on a string. But don’t worry, this piece is still wallet worthy with all those credit card slots. Plus, the wrist strap is removable!
