Alexander McQueen has certainly been producing a lot of interesting pieces lately. But nothing has piqued my interest as much as the bag you see pictured here. Introducing the very curious-looking Alexander McQueen Bosch Lock-It Jacquard!

Whoa, hold on just a second… Bosch? It has been a while since I have taken an art history class, so I had to do a little digging to figure out what exactly this bag was all about. It turns out that this colorful, tapestry-like bag is paying homage to Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch (pronounced “Boss”). The early renaissance artist was famous for his religious triptychs (i.e. a painting consisting of three panels). The Garden of Earthly Delights is his most well-known triptych, with the right panel depicting a scene from hell. It is a portion of this panel that you see on the front and back sides of this bag.

Once you understand where the scenes on the sides of this handbag came from, it is easy to understand the reasoning behind putting them there. It sort of fits in with the whole Alexander Queen vibe, if that makes sense. Not to mention it makes for a very pretty bag! It would definitely make a very interesting statement piece!
