Change Combustion from dmg to -wounds

The problem with BW / Sorc is that with a healer Combustion isn't really a big enough problem to justify the very big DPS boost they get.

By changing Combustion from doing damage to the BW / Sorc they should get a wounds debuff instead, removing the same amount of HP. A healer would now not be able to keep a BW / Sorc alive and they would be forced to use their Meltdown ability to get rid of the wounds debuff.

They would still be able to do high DPS with Combustion at 100, just not for the same amount of time as they can with a healer now.

I dunno, the thought just occurred to me, maybe it's bad /shrug. Discuss.

Agreed. It's an inventive yet sensible solution. I like it.

I disagree, I think that it is a stupid idea, I don't see why combustion or sorc'S/BW damage output should be nerfed and considering that you didn't give any reasonable reason, I suspect you're just being a little wussy and being jealous of their Damage output...

So let me get this straight, you want to make it so an already squishy class, IE; a glass cannon kill themselves after 2 spells?

He dident say they should nerf damage, his sugestion was basically a health debuff (reducing max health) instead of health loss, u could even spam spells without a healer and without dying then, but since the max amounth of health would lower if not using combustion. U would just be in more trouble if someone jumps at you.

They wouldent even kill themself, with that function, just make them more vulnerable against attackers.

Not neccessary. Could make it a percentage of wound loss, each spell has a certain percent value reduced from wounds when cast up to a maximum of 50% as an example.

Double the damage for half the survivabillity, cant se that not being fair.

I would rather that there were more ways to get rid of combustion.

As is a BW/sorc will build the points when casting any spell and once its maxed the only incentive to get rid of them is the explotion chance.

As the OP points out, if you have a healer working with you the damage from exploding is bad but easilly countered.

What if many of the more powerfull spells actually required combustion to be cast?

This would meen it will be rare for a BW/sorc to be at 100% bonus damage and thus lower their overall dam output.

In any case, a BW or sorc is very easy to kill off anyways, the only problem is that players are idiots and go after the wrong targets all the time.

Unless you have a dedicated healer the dmg from combustion will kill you fast. At lvl 33 I take around 600 dmg from combustion. For a class that has the lowest AC and lowest HP that is too much. If anything combustion dmg should be cut in half.

No other order class has a backlash that dmgs themselves, just because we have the highest dps does not mean we should kill ourselves. It would make alot more sense to just remove the combustion mechanic altogether. Then we would not have the burst dmg that everyone seems to cry about and we would have better survivability.
