Ahh… the clutch! Every girl should own at least one great clutch for that formal occasion or night out in town. The fun idea of a clutch is that it’s an acceptable way to carry trendy or very eye catching designs that you normally wouldn’t encounter on an everyday handbag. Take for example the ‘Grape’ Kiss lock clutch by Sondra Roberts, cool concept and very unique indeed, but I can’t imagine running into someone carrying this design, say on a large tote bag.

Who knows, maybe there’s someone out there really digs the grape-like cluster of this piece. As you fill this clutch up with your necessities, its body, which consists of round silk beads, increases in size creating an even more vivid appearance. The first thing that comes to mind is that 3-D pin head toy that most people can’t resist sculpting their hands and faces on, the more pressure you apply, the larger the image size gets. What do you ladies think about its concept? I say cool, but I’m not so sure that it’s best seen on a clutch. This clutch arrives in your choice from three colors of black, pink, or champagne, a crystallized kiss lock closure and a sharp squared shaped top. If you can wear this clutch a significant amount of times, then the $148 price tag sure is fairly reasonable.

A super hot item since its release last Fall, the bag looked simply stunning dangling from Rachel’s shoulder. Unfortunately, this must-have style was completely sold out at the time of my post. However, what I like most about this bag is the color! This latest version is gray with gunmetal hardware (Rachel’s bag was black with gold tone hardware). This color combination makes this style even more rocker-chic and more compatible with most people’s wardrobes nowadays. After all, gold tone hardware doesn’t seem all that popular anymore.

There’s this rumor going around that military-inspired pieces will be hot for Fall this year. So be prepared to see lots of navy blues, olive greens, and dove grays floating around! But is that such a bad thing? I mean, I really like neutrals that are a step away from the ordinary. Black is okay, but it gets kinda old after awhile. This bag has a square shape with softened edges and a drawstring closure on top. It can be worn either as a satchel or a backpack. I’m not too sure about the backpack part, but I love the way this bag looks as a satchel! I like the vertical zippered pockets on the front, complete with their own grommet detailing. Plus I like how the cotton webbing straps have little red stripes in them, adding just a touch of contrast to this bag. The Marc by Marc Jacobs New Army Handhack is such a great style for casual wear. Pair it with a woven button-down, skinny jeans, and leather boots for the perfect look!

We have pretty much hit the season where fur textiles populate the handbag racks and the contemporary brand of Foley + Corinna isn’t lingering behind. The fur trend is somewhat new to the American brand, but F+C’s Bunny Luck Pouch is just making its debut. I think whether you’re a fan of fur or not, you’ll sway on the side that agrees that this is one unattractive fur bag. Sure it’s trendy and can be easily contributed to your winter wardrobe, but it’s not the most attractive piece out there. This is an obvious example of how attaching fur on a handbag doesn’t automatically make an accessory luxurious.

But I’m assuming us Bagista’s can agree that we have seen worst, its just that this animal print fur presentation isn’t exactly striking. For the fur fans to know, Foley + Corinna has picked genuine rabbit fur to compliment their cross body bucket bag. Could it be that because the bag and fur were crafted and imported from China the reason that this piece carries a low price of $240? Adding genuine leather to pretty much anything hikes up its msrp, but this funky bucket bag is reasonably priced for the fur fanatic who’s on a budget.

At a quick glimpse, I honestly thought this young Hollywood celebrity was Lindsay Lohan but I guessed wrong, instead, it’s the popular Disney Star Miss Miley Cyrus.

I’m currently obsessed with zippers. It does seem to be a hot trend right now, and I’m a huge fan of it. I’m usually not a fan of trends because I love being different and doing the complete opposite of what everyone else is doing. I mean face it, what fun is it if everyone else has the same things as you do? You’ll just look like everyone else when you walk out your door, but the zipper trend is just too fabulous to pass up. When I first saw the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Flash Leola&#louis vuitton eluxury8221; Leather Hobo I instantly fell in love. I wasn’t a fan of the color, but it’s definitely a handbag I would wear non-stop. The bag does have an architectural feel to it with all the zippers going in different directions.

The hobo is beautiful, but I think it would look way better in black or white. The bag kind of loses it’s edginess to it with it being in bright blue. Zippers look more fashionable when they are paired up with neutral colors, but of course that’s just my opinion. If this bag does become available in a less vibrant color I’ll probably consider purchasing it!

You can purchase the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Flash Leola” Leather Hobo at Nordstrom for $498, which I think it a little too much for it. I love Marc Jacobs but I think this hobo should be priced at no more than $300. Expensive or not, it’s a cool looking bag that I would love to add to my collection.

This giant beauty by Cynthia Vincent caught my eye for so many reasons; meet the Studded Kidsuede Grocery Tote. First of all, I’d say ‘grocery tote’ is a poor choice of name for this bag, as I imagine grocery totes to be not so high maintenance as this appears to be. Suede isn’t typically my first choice of textile when in search for a new handbag as it would look quite horrid just after a few wears, but I simply can’t deny how lovely it looks on this giant tote bag.

I’m also loving the array of mixed metal studs and how they give off a bohemian chic feel, and of course; the double braided leather strap top is an awesome touch to what could have been typical boring shoulder straps. I could totally see someone rocking this tote all year round, or in the mean time, it’ll look great with denim shorts and sun dresses.

How to Buy Authentic, Pre-Owned Louis Vuitton Handbags

These days, everyone is trying to save money. And people who love Louis Vuitton handbags are certainly no exception. One great way to save money is to buy pre-owned (AKA “pre-loved”) handbags on eBay, Bonazle, eCrater, or what have you. And with so many people out there trying to unload their luxury items for some quick cash, there are many great deals to be had. But is that Louis Vuitton handbag authentic? For the unwary shopper, these internet market places can be quite dangerous. So how can you avoid buying a fake? There are some things you can do to help lower your chances of getting stuck with a knock-off. Below you will find some tips on buying pre-owned Louis Vuitton handbags online.

Tip #1: Know your seller!

Always, always check out a seller’s feedback. Also, do they have a history of selling Louis Vuitton? Quality is just important as quantity. Positive feedback regarding previously sold Louis Vuitton items should carry more weight than positive feedback alone. This isn’t to say that a first time seller doesn’t have an authentic item, it just means that this is something you should definitely take into consideration.

Tip #2: Know your item!

Go to your nearest Louis Vuitton boutique and check out the style you are interested in. Get to know EVERY little detail. If you don’t have the opportunity to see the bag you want in person, then examine close up photos from a trusted online source. Pay very close attention to the alignment of patterns since this is consistent among all bags of the same style. Also look at the number of stitches on different parts of the bag. All classic monogram Speedy handbags, for example, have exactly 5 stitches across the top on the handle mount tab (see picture below). Also pay attention to what sort of lining the handbag should have. The Multicolore Speedy 30 in black, for example, has a mushroom gray alcantara lining.



Tip #3: Beware of fake tags and dust covers!

Sometimes a fake can easily be spotted simply by identifying a fake tag or dust cover. If the handbag in question has a white or yellow “Louis Vuitton” tag dangling from a string, then run in the opposite direction as fast as you can! An authentic tag is plain white with only a bar code, style number, and the name of the item printed on it. Tags come loose, they are never attached to the outside of the handbag. Also pay attention to dust covers. The ones that have “Malletiera Paris” written beneath the words “Louis Vuitton” are fake.

Tip #4: Familiarize yourself with date codes!

Looking for a discontinued style? Make sure that the date code matches the time frame in which the style was produced. Between 1990 and 2006, all date codes consisted of 2 letters followed by 4 numbers. The letters coded for the country of origin, while the numbers represented the production date. The first and third numbers indicated the month, while the second and fourth numbers indicated the year. This would mean that the handbag belonging to this date code (see picture below) was made in September of 2006. Beginning in January 2007, however, the date code format was changed. The first and third numbers now represent the week (out of 52) in which the handbag was produced.

I have to say I’ve never been a big fan of the fur handbag or even fur charms to attached to a handbag. I adore the smaller size of 10″ x 7″ x 1″ as it allows you to do fur without going over the top. Finished leather edges around the flap closure and opening will keep you from wearing the fur and extend it’s life. Inside there is a single zip pocket. A lovely removable, gold-tone chain and navy satin lining provide luxurious touches in this design.

The most surprising aspect of this bag is the price. While most fur bags are well over the 1K mark, this bag goes for $650 at Saks Fifth Avenue. A nice price-point for those of us who love fur and want to try this emerging trend.

To think that one of the fashion industries well known designers would be inspired by the game of good ole’ American football seems quite strange, but is indeed true. Attention football addicts/bagista’s, meet the Brady Football Clutch by Alexander Wang. So Wang was months short of making this clutches debut during the actual season, and although you might have no football parties to attend to at the moment, you can always add this to your ‘gear’ collection for next season. So why a clutch resembling a football? Either Alexander holds a passion for the game, or he just wanted to call out to the sports ladies.

I am loving the look and feel of the Clutch Ruffle! The Ruffle features a beautiful leather body of a bag featuring hand-stitching and a top-hinge opening. The most striking detail of all is the embellishment with ultra-feminine and striking suede ruffle. The contrast of the suede to the smooth and luxurious leather is subtle, surprising and luxe!
